Cathedrals and Monsters

Hi everyone! I didn't get to play today because I had to go somewhere else. Yup, I have a life other than WYD. Today I attended my cousin's wedding at the Manila Cathedral. It was my first time to go to that place and so I was really excited. The Manila Cathedral is like the largest church in the Philippines so going there was really something. At left is a picture that I took. Too bad a tree is on the way. I can't really move much coz of the rain hence the sloppy pic T T.

Anyway, I arrived home at a little past midnight and since I still can't sleep I checked out if SHIELD has guild war but it seems like no one has the balls to challenge us so I waited for kingdom war. During KW, no red capes show up so it was really boring only us blues hanging out in Noatun. Fortunately, GM decided to give us some monsters to kill.

We just finished KW and I feel so sleepy now so I better end this but before I go, I wanna share a very old pic I got of CM Dhar and CM Nyx. CM Dhar is wearing his big bad cat costume in all its pink glory while CM Nyx is in her granny suit lol. Which reminds me, I haven't seen CM Nyx for quite some time now. Where are you CM Nyx?
I hope you all enjoy this pic which I rummaged from my vault. Hohum I gotta sleep now. Good night y'all and see you in-game tomorrow. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

What I can do as a gamer

Hi guys! Just thought I'd write about this week's topic. Hmmm, so what can I do as a gamer? As always, I've come up with my own list...

1. Tell the world. I love playing WYD so it's so natural for me to tell other people how cool this game is. Whenever I hear people talking about games (even people I don't know) I always make it a point to tell them to check out WYD. Although playing with people from the other side of the world is fun, playing with people who you actually know in real life is more fun since you can bash their head if they don't return the weapon they borrowed and promised to return lol.

2. Suggest new community events. Just like what I've been doing in my recent posts, suggesting new events will give the GMs fresh ideas about what we gamers like to have implemented in-game. Wouldn't it be something if your suggestion was really turned into an event?

3. Join the events. I really don't understand why some people can complain about the events. Like this Wydian Journal event, some people are saying that it's unfair that we bloggers get laks and they don't. I mean why don't they join so they could also get the benefits of this event. I've been telling my friends in PH academy for so long now that they should join this awesome event but so far only NurseOnDuty has been caught with the blogging bug like me. So heads up to you nurse!

4. Be friendly with the noobs. One of the reasons I liked this game from the start is because people were so friendly and helpful when I started. Especially our operators in PH at that time - Citrix, SilmeriaPH and chester13. You guys are great! I really make it a point to help noobs in-game by showing them where the quests are or suggest builds and what skills they should get or where to hunt a particular item. What I don't do is give away golds and items because I believe one should work in order to be strong.

5. Play, play, play. All the telling, all the suggestions will all be useless if you don't play lol. I mean you can't come up with things to suggest or share your experiences if you don't play the game right. So the most important thing that a gamer can actually do is simply to chill out and play the game.

So that's about it for this update but before I end, I wanna share this pic of me, thyrene and DarkAgly with you all. Ciao!

Project WYDGlobal

Hi guys! Last time I told you all about my idea of the generals playing hide and seek with us. Well guess what? I've got another idea for a community event. I got this idea while watching the TV show "Project Runway". You all know "Project Runway" right? Well, it's a reality show hosted by Heidi Klum where all these gay people compete by making dresses for the gorgeous models.

Enough of "Project Runway" and on to my community event. The title of this event is "Project WYDGlobal" named after the tv show. This event is for the players to display their "gay side" lol their "creativity" I mean. The object is to design a new god armor for each of the four classes because let's face it having only 1 set of god armor to choose from is a bit boring. The participants can use photoshop, corel, paint, or pencil and pen or whatever they like as long as they can show the front side and backside of the armors plus another drawing of it being worn by a character. Four winners will be chosen. One for each class. The winning designs will be launched in-game as new armors and the four winners will get a perfect option set of the armor he/she designed plus ancient god weapon of choice. We can take this event to another level and make a weapon design competition. Same rules as the armors only this time participants design new weapons. What do you think CMs and GMs?
That's it for now. 'Til next update and see you all in-game. Ciao!

Generals play hide and seek

Hi guys! I've been playing the game of the generals and hide and seek for quite some time now and then today the idea hit me... Why don't the generals play hide and seek?

I just observed that during game of the generals, the generals appear at Armia always at the same place. Near the gate and Carbunkle Wind. So everyone just sits there waiting for the generals to appear. Not very fun huh. Same thing at Kephra dungeon, the GMs give us the coords of the generals so we just all rush there and kill them.

An hour later, one CM will hide will give us clues and we all go find him or her. Upon finding the CM, what we do is TRADE him or her which renders our weapons that we painstakingly upped and anciented USELESS.

Wouldn't it be more fun if we hunted generals that we can kill instead of CMs that just sit around waiting to be traded? So here's my idea for this event...

At the given time, the generals and his minions will appear at a random location. There will be 3 clues and the clues will be given at 3 minute intervals so the hunting time will be longer than if the clues were given out all at once. The minions will give out scraps and the general will give out the 5 laks to whoever made the last hit.

I think this event will promote communication between guildmates or academy mates if group hunting is your thing. Or you can try to kill the general and all his minions alone if you want to keep all the booty for yourself (that is if nobody else comes hehe). Also, this event will give a whole new meaning to the word "hunting" in this game. And lastly, we can blast the hell out of the general when we finally find him instead of simply pushing the TRADE button.

A weapon that comes around

Today I'm gonna talk about my favorite weapon - the throwing weapon. As a BM, my main weapon is the Thron of Deimos. What I like best about throwing weapons is the ability to still use a shield while attacking your opponents. They are designed to give a warrior the ability to strike from a distance. An important counterbalance to weapons for hand-to-hand combat, throwing weapons of various types exist in different cultures. So here are some throwing weapons I researched about.

The spear, a long flexible pole with a sharp point attached, was a fairly international primitive throwing weapon. It evolved in several directions, into javelins—used for sport as well as warfare, pikes, and lances. One of the throwing weapons that has lasted, the spear also had a role in fishing and hunting, and fish spearing is still practiced today.

The sling is a weapon that has existed from ancient times. It is immortalized in the story of the young Jewish shepherd boy, David, who conquered the giant Goliath with this type of throwing weapon in the Old Testament story. A sling, which consists of a strap used to whirl and hurl a stone, is different from the class of throwing weapons called slingshots, which are a y-shaped stick with an elastic strap that can fling small stones.

Tomahawk is an Algonquian name for a hatchet that could be used in hand-to-hand fighting, but if a throwing weapon were needed, could double as a missile. The tomahawk was used by a variety of Native Americans, and were sometimes decorated, or included a pipe. As the use of firearms spread, tomahawks had less importance in warfare and more in ceremony.

Shuriken, which means “hand hidden blade,” known in the West as a Ninja Throwing Star, is a traditional Japanese weapon that is meant to be easily concealed. Although designed as a throwing weapon, the small 4- or 8-pointed shuriken can also be used for stabbing if necessary. This type of throwing weapon was considered a supplement to the larger, more powerful weapons a warrior would wield, such as a sword and spear. The art of the shuriken is a secret part of the curriculum of a number of martial arts.

Finally, the boomerang is a flat, curved piece of wood used as a throwing weapon in Australia, but similar weapons occur in Africa, India, and North America. The designs vary quite a bit, even within Australia. Naturally, the type of boomerang used as a throwing weapon is not intended to return to the thrower. The range is about 150 yards.

You know you're addicted...

Hello WYDians! I thought I’ll share with you all my top ten for this week’s topic so here it is!

You know you’re addicted to WYD Global when…

10. You always order “roasted chicken” at the restaurant. When your buddies ask why, you tell them so you won’t go hungry for 20 hours.

9. After ordering roasted chicken, you ask the waiter for a glass of red potion instead of red wine.

8. You are about to pay your bill and you realize you forgot your wallet and you ask the waiter if he could accept wcoins instead.

7. You receive your paycheck and you really wish you have a money cube with you.

6. You see your neighbor walking his dog and you tell him “Nice Fenrir! What’s its maturity?”

5. Your friend calls and he wants to see you, you tell him let’s meet at Aki.

4. Your neighbor comes to your house to borrow some sugar so you go “Wait, I’ll check my Cargo Guard”

3. You call the new guy at your office a NOOB because he doesn’t know how to operate the copying machine.

2. Your friends are playing basketball and you want to join so you repeatedly shout “PT ME! PT ME! PT ME!”

1. Your son asks you “Daddy, aside from birds what other animals are hatched from eggs?” and you reply “Pigs, boars, wolves, bears, tigers and horses”

So there you have it! I hope you all enjoyed reading this. See you all in-game!
